Using G Suite

Here at Lewisham College you have a G Suite account which allows you to communicate with other people, create documents, share your work and much more. There are lots of different apps available, covering a very wide range of uses. For example, you can create a website using Sites, organise your time management with Calendar or create a survey using Forms, to name but a few! You can also use Google Docs, Sheets and Slides in much the same way as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Much of the G Suite is also available to download on smartphones and tablets, as well as being available via PCs, Chromebooks and Macs - with your account you can access your files on a range of different devices as long as you have an Internet connection.

To access your G Suite account you need to sign in to Google using the following: <yourstudentnumber> and then entering your network password. Your student number is on your ID card and you will create your own password at the start of your course.

Gmail You can use this to send and receive emails, including attachments from a network drive, USB stick or Google Drive.
Google Drive

You can use this to save your work in the cloud. Google Drive is compatible with a number of different file types,

so you can save lots of different file types in to it. This includes files created in Docs, Sheets, Slides and other G Suite apps.

Google Docs You can use this for word processing and to create and edit documents.
Google Sheets You can use this to create and edit spreadsheets and charts.
Google Slides You can use this to create presentations.
Google Keep You can use this to take notes for your assignments. Notes can be used in conjunction with Docs.
Google Forms You can use this to create surveys and quizzes.
Google Sites You can use this to create simple websites.
